Theology:

It is also intended for students who would like to prepare for church or community related work, including work in religious tourism, through the combination of Theology with Sociology, Psychology, Communication Studies, Philosophy, History or a language subject.

The Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Italian offered by University of Malta will prepare you to study and explore the intertwining relationships between faith, philosophy, and human experience. By engaging with a variety of scriptures and contributing to in-class theological debates, you will cultivate a more refined mind-set and approach towards religious thought. 

The course features a wide range of units that will cover different facets of theology, which will provide a holistic and unique learning experience. To name a few, some of the units involved range from; Fundamental Patrology, The History of the Church in Malta and the Philosophical Foundations of Theology, to Christian Anthropology, Bioethics, and Prophetic, Apocalyptic and Wisdom Literature.

Italian:

The programme of study in Italian will give you an academic perspective of the language, literature and culture of the Mediterranean country. Being an important historical country, it is inevitable that it has been influential in a variety of ways. During the course they will broaden your literary horizons with a keen focus on Dante Alighieri's Epic poetry, along with other notable Roman and Italian figures who have contributed to its national literature. 

Apart from studying modern and contemporary Italian literature in its visual mediums, they will also refine your morphological, syntactical and lexical abilities in the target language. They also encourage you to participate in the Erasmus+ mobility programme for a diversified and multicultural academic experience.

Careers

Theology:

As a graduate, the course will prepare you for church or community related work, including work in religious tourism and religious leadership, provided that the necessary requirements are met.

If you would like to pursue an academic career or further your studies, you may choose to enrol in a postgraduate course locally or internationally.

Italian:

As a graduate of this programme of study you will be employable, both locally and internationally, as a translator, journalist, writer, interpreter, historian, editor, diplomat, publisher, researcher, industrial relations consultant, human resources specialist, archivist, linguist, librarian and as a cultural consultant. If you would like to further your studies, or are interested in pursuing an academic career, then they encourage you to enrol in one of the local postgraduate courses for a honed and holistic academic background.
