Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT), in partnership with AERO-Bildungs GmbH of Germany, is recognised by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) as an approved centre in Malaysia for Aviation Maintenance Training Organization (MTO). UniKL MIAT will offer Aircraft Maintenance License Program - EASA programme from Universiti Kuala Lumpur.

Career Pathways

An aircraft maintenance engineer is fully responsible for ensuring an aircraft operates safely and in compliance towards the aircraft manufacturer maintenance standards.

A license aircraft engineer may make maintenance repairs, troubleshoot problems on aircraft systems, conduct airworthiness inspections and make upgrades to aircraft parts or structures that relate to the continuity of an aircraft airworthiness.

Daily duties may include keeping records of performed scheduled maintenance, making emergency repairs, or preparing for any required inspections.

General requirements

Entry Requirements for National Students:

Passed Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent with Grade C in English, Mathematics, Science or any science subject OR
Pass Diploma [Level 4, Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF)] or Bachelor (Level 6, MQF) in technical/engineering from higher education provider recognized by the Malaysian Government with at least a CGPA of 2.00 OR
Pass Technical Professional Certificate in a related field with one year of work experience in the field of aviation and pass SPM with at least one credit in any subject OR
Pass O-Level with at least Grade C in Mathematics, English and Science.

Entry Requirements for International Students:

Student must complete 12 years of schooling and obtain general pass in their High School Certificate, A-levels or equivalent with minimum Grade C (60%) in Mathematics and one of the Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry or Biology – depending on the programme).
IELTS 5.0 or equivalent
