General requirements
- A Levels: BCC including Maths (min C) and a science subject (preferably Chemistry).
- T Levels: Merit or higher in Science; Maintenance, Installation and Repair for Engineering and Manufacturing; Design and Development for Engineering and Manufacturing; or Engineering, Manufacturing, Processing and Control.
- BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM.
- BTEC Level 3 (2010–2016): Further Mathematics for Engineering Technicians (Unit 28) at minimum Merit.
- BTEC Nationals Level 3 (from 2016): Merit in ‘Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems’ (Unit 7) and ‘Further Engineering Mathematics’ (Unit 8).
- Access to HE Diploma: 104 UCAS points in Science/Engineering, including at least 9 Maths credits at Merit.
- International Baccalaureate: 104 UCAS points, plus HL 3 or SL 4 in English.
- GCSEs: English and Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent.
- HND (Chemical Engineering) with Maths allows entry to Stage 2.
