The Songcraft and Music Production programme of The University of Auckland brings together the art of songwriting with the craft of audio production, giving you the tools to create, refine, and realise original music from idea to finished track.

You’ll explore songwriting, production, arranging, performance, music technology, sound design and engineering — developing both the creative and technical skills essential for today’s music industry.

Whether you’re passionate about writing songs, producing in the studio, sound designing for film or games, or integrating performance, recording and composition into a complete creative practice, this programme provides the foundation to do it all.

As a graduate you’ll have the skills and expertise to pursue a wide range of career opportunities in New Zealand and overseas. Building a career on stage is a frequent goal, but the music industry runs on more than performers and composers.
