Key facts
- Attend and assist with 40 spontaneous vaginal births, 100 antenatal, neonatal, and postnatal checks.
- Take part in a variety of placements, multiple times throughout each year of study. The course is made up of around 50% placement. This means you will interact with the maternity workforce along with developing your clinical proficiencies and preparation for future employment. Clinical placements will be in blocks, giving you the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the reality of midwifery practice.
- Work in small class sizes of around 20 people. This means you will gain a personalised learning experience where you are encouraged to build professional relationships with your fellow peers and lecturers.

The minimum entry requirements for this course are:
- 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 (or equivalent) including English Language, Maths and a Science
You also need 120 UCAS points from the following qualifications:
A level (A2) - BBB (excluding General Studies). We will accept the following A level subjects as a science based subject: Biology, Human Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Physical Education, Psychology and Sociology.
BTEC Extended Diploma - Distinction, Distinction, Merit
International Baccalaureate - 34 points
