Overview

The English Language and Literature course at Istanbul Arel University aims to train individuals who have knowledge about English novels and to be able to evaluate the characterizations, themes and plots in these novels from a broader perspective.

Graduates of the Department of English Language and Literature are employed in various fields and positions. Individuals who have completed their undergraduate degree and who continue their studies at the master’s or doctoral level can work as translators or academics at various universities and research centers. Additionally, they can serve as English teachers in public schools and private colleges, or as instructors responsible for lecturing in English courses in the departments of foreign languages at many universities. Employment in positions such as customer service specialist in companies related to foreign trade, and media organizations is also possible. Furthermore, graduates are provided with job opportunities in various positions in the tourism sector, ministries, public and private institutions, and the civil aviation industry, depending on demand. Moreover, graduates can work as translators, either freelance or in association with an institution, due to their proficiency in English language.
