Program Objectives
The B.Sc. Program in Interior Architecture at German Jordanian University (GJU) – Amman aims at acquainting students with creativeproblem solving and artistic sensitivity abilities through:- 1. Providing students with a comprehensive coursework in the visual,
- functional, socio-economic, technical, theoretical aspects.
- 2. Developing students’ visual, written, and oral communication skills in
- the traditional as well as the contemporary sense.
- 3. Enhancing students’ creative use of advanced computer applications
- and software packages related to contemporary areas of knowledge.
- 4. Enhancing students’ awareness about and sensitivity to socioeconomic responsibilities as well as sensitivity to sustainable
- environments and interventions through integrating intensive fieldwork
- and site visits locally, regionally, and internationally.
- 5. Strengthening students’ understanding of the technical and
- technological issues in relation to architectural and interior architecture
- design problems.
- 6. Emphasizing coordination among all design specialties by integrating
- and coordinating different coursework.
- 7. Motivating students to realize the expectations and opportunities of the
- profession by gaining a realistic perspective on career interests and
- aptitudes through integrating education and industry.
- 8. Equipping students with professionalism through contact with practice
- while still at GJU, by getting them involved in internships with local,
- regional, and international firms, institutions, and corporations as part
- of the study plan. Graduates are expected to be highly employable and
- to secure some of the best starting salaries in Jordan and the region.
- 9. Emphasizing students’ management skills through design projects
- focusing on organizations, teamwork, and networking.
- 10. Building leadership and individuality by presenting the teaching-learning
- experience as an interactive learning environment.
