Overview
The students of the Nursing course from Lapland University of Applied Sciences receive good theoretical and practical skills in nursing, nursing science and nursing research so as to be able to contribute to the development of nursing. You will learn distance learning and digital services as part of nursing profession. In the learning process the student formulates links between practical experience and theoretical concepts. These links require the integration of theory and practice and that is facilitated by reflection on practice.
The clinical practice can be done in Finland or partly abroad. Studying in international programme you have excellent opportunity to have an education which is highly valued. You study 15 credits Finnish language while Finnish speaking students study English and Swedish language. Finnish language is used in practical training which is carried out in Finnish speaking organisations during the studies. Employment possibilities are excellent in Finland for registered nurses.

Living costs

The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.
Funding
1st year students: 20% Early Bird scholarship (€1,900) if they accept the study place, register and pay 80% of annual tuition (€7,600) within two weeks of acceptance.
3rd year students: €4,750 scholarship based on Finnish assessment test (YKI) and study progress with at least 120 credits completed and level 2 or 3 language proficiency.
4th year students: €1,500 (210 credits) or €3,000 (240 credits) scholarship based on YKI and study progress with at least 180 credits completed and level 3 language proficiency.
Discretionary scholarships: For non-EU/EEA students with separate application, covering 50% of annual tuition (provided retroactively) if they complete all studies, except the thesis, within the target time.
