Overview

The Mining Science and Engineering program at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals is unique when compared to other mining engineering programs around the world due to its focus on artificial intelligence applications in the mining industry. The program, designed with feedback from an array of international experts in industry and academia, provides every student with a solid foundation on traditional knowledge such as engineering fundamentals, mining geology, mineral processing and a variety of mining engineering topics such as mining methods, geomechanics, ventilation, and health and safety.

General requirements

The applicant must be a high school graduate (General, Computer Science and Engineering, Health and Life) or international school graduate (Natural Sciences) in the current year or the previous year.

A minimum SAT score of 1350 is required to apply. Meeting the minimum score does not ensure admission. Admissions are competitive.

SAT scores must be directly sent to King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals from the SAT Test Centre.

An English language proficiency test is mandatory. Applicants should score at least 55 in the STEP test or its equivalent in TOEFL or IELTS.
