Overview
The students of the Physiotherapy programme from University of Nicosia acquire knowledge and skills through an integrated academic and practical background, which is based on the available scientific evidence (Evidence Based Physiotherapy) and adapts to the rapid technological developments in the field of physiotherapy.
Occupational Profiles
- Graduates will be able, upon completion of their studies, to apply for registration at the Cypriot Physiotherapist Registration Council in order to secure a license to practice the profession of physiotherapist.
- Having obtained their license, they will be able to be employed in the private sector as employees or in public hospitals and clinics, in sports clubs, in rehabilitation centers or wherever else a professional physiotherapist is required, following the criteria set by the Republic of Cyprus.
- Physiotherapy graduates upon obtaining their degree can apply in any foreign country, to the corresponding institution, for the recognition of their degree and then the issuance of a professional practice license (e.g. DOATAP in Greece).

General requirements
- To be admitted in the programme of Physiotherapy, a degree is required from a recognised Institution of Secondary Education (high school diploma) with a minimum score of 75%, or 15 out of 20, and 70%, or 14 out of 20, in Physics and Biology courses or a high school diploma 15 out of 20 and GCE A ‘Level (or IAL) in Physics and Biology with grade B.
- Candidates who do not meet the above requirements will only be accepted after successful completion of Foundation Courses in Physics, English, and Biology.
- Where interested students are graduates of other related undergraduate disciplines, e.g. Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Sport Science, they will be admitted on a case-by-case basis in the first year. These students will be examined on a case-by-case basis for course recognition.
