What can I do on completion of my course?
All graduates who meet the SPR will enter an induction year contract with a local authority. Successful completion of an induction year will qualify you to teach Technological Education in Scotland. Current vacancy figures suggest that all successful graduates will be able to follow a career in teaching.
The range of knowledge and skills in this degree will also support you to work in a range of related careers, particularly in engineering and design related industries.

General requirements
- 3 Scottish Highers at grades BBC or above in English plus at least one from Maths, Physics, Engineering Science, Graphic Communication, or Design and Manufacture OR
- 2 A levels at grades BC or above in English, plus one preferred from Maths, Design and Technology or Physics
- You must also have National 5 Mathematics or Applications of Maths at grade C OR
- GCSE Maths at grade C
- Alternatively, SCQF Level 6 NC qualification such as NC Engineering Systems, along with the GTCS required National 5 Maths and Higher English
- Successful applicants will be required to attend an interview. This will include a collaborative activity, written task and discussion
- This is a Category 1 PVG course: PVG Scheme membership is required to successfully achieve target qualification, where there is guaranteed contact with vulnerable groups in key elements of the course.
