Overview

The programme involves obtaining diplomas from two universities: Kazakh-British Technical University and China University of Petroleum (East China, UPC).

The goal of the educational programme is to train highly qualified specialists of international level for the petroleum industry, who possess professional and social competencies, master modern technologies for the development, production, and operation of petroleum fields, and are capable of analyzing and interpreting data, automating production processes, and effectively interacting in a multicultural environment.

Key Facts

Participation in the Petroleum Engineering (UPC) programme from Kazakh-British Technical University is not automatic for all students. To study at the China University of Petroleum (East China, UPC) students must pass a joint competitive selection process organized by KBTU and UPC.The number of available spots is limited, and the quota is determined by the host institution (UPC). Only students who successfully pass the selection process will be eligible to continue their studies in China and obtain a second diploma.

Identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of science, mathematics, and engineering.

Apply engineering design principles to develop solutions that consider public health, safety, sustainability, as well as global, social, environmental, and economic factors.

Communicate effectively in oral and written forms in Kazakh, Russian, and foreign languages for professional interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Possess oral and written communication skills in multiple languages for professional interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Applicants must take the UNT in 5 subjects to be eligible for the grant competition.
