The curriculum is structured into two main phases: the preclinical phase, spanning the first three years, focuses on foundational medical sciences, ethics, and essential professional skills through student-centered and integrated teaching methods.

The clinical phase, covering the final three years, immerses students in real-world medical practice via clinical rotations in hospitals and healthcare settings. The academic year comprises 32 weeks of instruction, beginning every fall semester.

Graduates of this program are well-prepared for medical licensure, specialization exams, and a variety of career paths in general medicine, specialist training, public health, research, or positions in both public and private medical institutions globally.

The programme’s international-medium instruction, modern facilities, and research-focused environment aim to foster analytical, compassionate, and innovative practitioners.

Programme Structure

Theoretical and practical courses in the first, second and third years take place in the classrooms and laboratories in the Division of Basic Medical Sciences Building located in Marmara Eğitim Köyü. Internships and bed-site trainings are carried out in the 200-bed, Faculty of Medicine affiliated Research and Application Hospital located in the Maltepe Campus. Students also conduct field work outside the Faculty in the primary and secondary health care institutions, non-governmental organizations and various public institutions.

Students advance their clinical skills in phase IV by taking Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Clinical Pharmacology, Respiratory Diseases and Cardiology clerkships.
