The course will prepare you for employment as an enrolled nurse, working under the supervision of a registered nurse.
You will learn to deliver nursing care for people across the health sector, gaining relevant competencies that relate to the different stages of life identified in the units you will study.
Successful completion of the Diploma of Nursing course will mean you are eligible to apply to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, in accordance with the Australian Health Practitioner regulation Agency (AHPRA) for registration as an enrolled nurse.
The Diploma of Nursing combines face-to-face classes with mandatory clinical placement components. The face-to-face classes are the theoretical part of the course, where you will learn through a combination of on-campus learning and simulation activities in a nursing skills laboratory.
We are required to verify how you will meet the English Language Requirements at the time you apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).. If you identify as requiring an English test at registration, you must provide evidence of meeting that requirement prior to enrolment.

- • Have satisfactorily completed a minimum of year 12 or equivalent.
- • Be 18 years or over.
- • Obtain a clear National Police check.
- • Obtain a Working with Children Check.
- Provide evidence prior to enrolment:
- • If English is your primary spoken language or
- • Provide results of an approved English language test(e.g. IELTS (academic) with minimum overall score of 7, and minimum score of 7 in listening, reading and speaking and a minimum score of 6.5 in writing or PTE (academic) achieving a minimum score of 66 overall and a minimum score of 66 in listening, reading and speaking and a minimum score of 62 in writing.
- • The above test results will be accepted from one sitting only. Test results will also be accepted from a maximum of 2 sittings in twelve (12) months with additional requirements*.
