Overview
International Business is offered by University of Economics in Katowice. Knowledge and capabilities gained throughout the studies will enable you to internationalize the activities of your own future business as well as to be offered employment within the EU institutions. The courses are taught by both Polish and foreign lecturers actively involved in research in the area of international business. The modern interactive teaching methods include workshops, simulations, case studies, research projects and problem-based learning. The students work in a multicultural environment and carry out projects in cooperation with students from different countries, which is a key advantage for those planning a career in international business. The language of instruction is English. Moreover, for the entire duration of the programme, students can learn two selected foreign languages, the options include: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Chinese and Polish.
Key Facts
The graduates will be equipped with the knowledge necessary for doing business in European markets, in relation to the global market. They should have the competences and skills for managing a small or medium-sized enterprise engaged in international trade. They may be employed e. g. in the positions of foreign trade specialists or in public administration institutions involved in international business cooperation, especially in the European Union. A natural progression for the holder of a Bachelor’s diploma in International Business is to continue the International Business studies at the Master’s level at the University of Economics in Katowice. The graduates can also take up further studies in the area of economics and management in Poland or abroad.
Accreditation
A foreign degree may also be recognized for the purpose of further studies on the basis of an international agreement.

Lecturers
The courses are taught by both Polish and foreign experts from Spain, Belgium, France, the USA etc. who are actively involved in research in the area of international business. There is also a chance to meet practitioners from local and international companies during study visits or guest lectures.

General requirements
Admission is based on the results of the matriculation exam (matura) in two subjects chosen by the candidate among all of the subjects in the examination. Qualifying points are calculated based on the percentage results from the matriculation certificate.
Grades obtained from a foreign high school diploma are also converted into qualifying points.
