You’ll learn to gather and analyse data, solve problems, and communicate your findings effectively - core skills required in the fields of healthcare, professional sport, research, and education.
You’ll study in outstanding facilities including our biomechanics lab with state-of-the-art 3D motion capture systems, and our respiratory clinic for exercise-related breathing problems. You’ll be supported by expert staff with experience working in elite sport, health, education and research – and benefit from strong connections with industry.
With opportunities to take a year in industry, study abroad or complete a placement, this degree helps you build confidence and experience. You’ll graduate with the scientific insight and practical skills to make a real difference in performance, fitness and health.
Our Year in Industry option gives you the chance to develop hands-on experience working in a professional environment and gain a competitive edge for future employment after you graduate.

A level
- BCC including grade B in an appropriate subject (eg Biology, Chemistry, Sport, Physical Education, Physics, Psychology, Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Science)
GCSE
- grade C/4 or above in GCSE English language or equivalent.
Access to HE Diploma
- The University welcomes applications from Access to Higher Education Diploma candidates for consideration. A typical offer may require you to obtain a proportion of Level 3 credits in relevant subjects at merit grade or above.
BTEC Nationals
- Distinction, Merit, Merit in a sport or science subject plus GCSE Mathematics grade C
International Baccalaureate
- 30 points overall or 15 at HL including Biology/Chemistry/Physics/Mathematics, Sports, Exercise and Health Science 5 at HL or 6 at SL and Mathematics 4 at HL or SL.
