Process Engineering
General Engineering specializes on generalist skills for coordinating activities in industry and for the holistic optimization of complex technical systems. Modules are offered that have a generalist nature.
Electrical Engineering contains electrical engineering megatrends such as automation, IoT, energy technology, renewable energies, e-mobility and autonomous driving.
Mechanical Engineering focuses on mechanical engineering topics such as the design of wind turbines, the optimization of engines, battery research or the creation of digital twins of complex technical systems or automated production lines.
Process Engineering is about developing processes in which materials are changed to manufacture products, e.g. biodegradable plastics from renewable raw materials or removing greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide from exhaust gases to protect the climate.

- Bachelor International Engineering (INB) can be studied completely in English.
No knowledge of German is required at the start of the INB program. As part of their studies, students can acquire German language skills up to B1 level. In addition, students are encouraged to acquire level C1 on a voluntary basis. This is possible free of charge at the university's internal Language Center.
Accreditation
The program is accredited as per national standards, by Acquin and Stiftungsrat Akkreditierung.
Acquin is a school accreditation system whose main objective is to provide guidance and information for students, employers, and higher education institutions. It aims to contribute to more transparency in the market of study programs.

The BSc program in International Engineering (INB) at Technische Hochschule Mannheim consists of
1st & 2nd semester:
Foundation studies in Maths, Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, and Process Engineering basics. Includes lab courses in electrical engineering and chemistry. Instruction in English.
3rd & 4th semester:
Advanced studies in engineering disciplines, with interdisciplinary modules like for example thermodynamics and measurement/control technology. Instruction in English.
5th semester:
Internship semester for practical experience and developing self-organization and communication skills, in Germany or abroad.
6th & 7th semester:
Choose one specialization:
• General Engineering: Develop generalist skills for coordinating and optimizing complex systems; courses in English.
• Process, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering: Deepen subject-specific knowledge, mainly in German, linked to German Bachelor's programs.

General requirements
- No knowledge of German is required at the start of the INB course.
A higher education entrance qualification is required, equivalent to the level of a German secondary school leaving certificate. Some countries' higher education entrance qualifications aren't equivalent to our German level, so applicants from these countries need to have additional academic experience. This can be a certain number of successful semesters at a recognized university at Bachelor level in a relevant subject from your home country or alternatively one successful year at a Studienkolleg type T in Germany.
- We can´t accept predicted grades for admission, we need your final results.
- No conditional admission will be given.

Our state charges tuition fees of €1,500 /semester for non-EU students.
All students also have to pay a semester contribution of approx. €200 /semester.

The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.
Funding
The best way to cover your living expenses is to use a blocked account. You will need a blocked account to apply for a visa anyway.
If you need to earn money while studying, make sure that you know the relevant work regulations that match your residency title. Students are limited in terms of hours they can work per week and amount.
- We don´t encourage our international students to work more than 10 hours per week.
- We are unable to offer scholarships for first year international students.
- Tuition jobs are available for higher semester students.
