Overview

Once the student has applied, the outcome of the application should be checked regularly. The status of the application will first indicate that the application has been received and is being attended to. However, the status must change to No Decision Taken, otherwise the application has not yet been captured by the Enrollment Unit and such an application is not visible to the Faculty. If after a period (one month) the status has not yet changed, the Enrolment section at the applied for campus should be contacted. Keep in mind that hundreds of applications are received, and the Enrollment Unit will do its utmost to capture applications as soon as possible.

Full-time students register for 5 modules (Research Methods and Techniques is a compulsory module + 4 other modules).

Part-time students register for THREE modules in their first year and TWO modules in their second year (Research Methods and Techniques must be one of these TWO modules in the second year).

General requirements

A four-year professional teaching degree (BEd degree);

an appropriate bachelor’s degree and a recognised professional teaching qualification (i.e., BCom and PGCE); or

a four-year professional teaching qualification, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Educational Management (i.e., Diploma in Education + ACE (FDE) + Adv Dip in Edu Management).

Students should have obtained at least 60% in relevant modules in the previous education qualification (Education type modules; Professional Study type modules; Research module).
