Overview
Design is so much more than aesthetic choices. Its foundation is based on an understanding of context, of peoples wishes, needs, motivations, constraints. It explores how creative thinking can be utilized to design experiences in which technology plays a positive role.
Incorporating emerging insights from the discipline, the focus of the Digital Design and Innovation course at CODE University of Applied Sciences is to create people centered experiences mediated through technology, in which aspects of aesthetics and form are crucial for any successful digital product, regardless if the interface is digital or physical.
How will my unique study experience at CODE look like?
A key feature is the fusion of hands-on experience with an immersive project-based educational approach, allowing students to engage deeply with their interests and inspirations. This approach creates a safe space for experimentation and failure, encouraging students to take risks and learn from their mistakes through regular reflective practice.

General requirements
- German regulations for higher education require you to have a higher-education entrance qualification (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung) to enroll in a Bachelor’s degree program. That usually means a high school diploma or A-level certificate, but depending on where you went to school, you might need to take further steps.
- If you are from outside the EU, you will need a student visa to move to Germany and start your studies at CODE. Your best course of action would be to contact the German embassy in your country as early as possible to get the specifications for the process.
- As our study programs are in English, you will need to prove that your English skills are at least at a B2 level.
