Key Features
The first year of study at University of Strathclyde focuses on the basic principles and fundamentals of chemical engineering.
In the second year, you'll study core chemical engineering areas such as process analysis and statistics, fluid flow and heat transfer and safety.
The third year of study teaches areas such as reactors, biochemical engineering, and materials and processes.
For Chemical Engineering (Bahrain) (Hons) program students, the final year of study includes particle technology, multiphase systems and process control. The second semester is entirely devoted to the chemical engineering design project.

General requirements
- Students should have successfully completed their high school diploma and have achieved an overall score of 80%, with 80% in relevant subjects for their chosen degree programmes.
- We accept a wide variety of international qualifications for admission to Year 1 of our degrees. Year 2 entry may be possible for students with a minimum of ABB at A Level or 32 in the International Baccalaureate, with subject-specific attainment dependent on the qualification obtained and degree programme of choice.
- Students are required to demonstrate proficiency in English for entry to our courses.
