Compared to theoretical physics, applied physics is a more hands-on course, bridging the gap between physics and mechanical engineering.

Applied physicists use physics, or conduct physics research, to develop new technologies to solve engineering problems. This often requires thinking 'outside the box', using skills in physics to understand the problem at hand.

At Dundee, Physics degrees are accredited by the UK Institute of Physics, eligible graduates are then able to apply for chartered physicist (CPhys) professional status.

The IS1 is the first year of a four year International Incorporated Bachelors. And its designed to strengthen your English language abilities and introduce core concepts and knowledge required at university study level.
