The Incorporated Bachelor Year Zero in Accounting and Finance BSc (Hons) from De Montfort University International College is the first step to thrive and progress into a professional accounting career on a course that is designed to develop industry-ready graduates, with a number of exemptions from professional body exams to speed up the process to become a qualified accountant.

You'll learn and develop core knowledge and skills, with a huge range of modules covering topics such as Financial Accounting, where you will explore relevant procedures and techniques.

As you progress, Management and Strategy will come into play, introducing the theory and practical aspects of managing organisations and the people who work for them. Other modules include Forensic Accounting, Advanced Corporate Finance and Advanced Decision Management.

DMU's Trading Room simulates what it’s like to work in the financial industry in roles such as trading, portfolio management, investment banking, corporate finance and financial or economic analysis. You will also have free access to news, analysis and commentary from the Financial Times, the world’s leading global business publication.

Your Pathways

The International Year Zero is the first year of the four year undergraduate course. IYZ is designed to help you gain extra skills in your subject area, as well as English Language, before you continue to year one of your chosen University undergraduate degree course.

Following successful completion of the IYZ, you will continue onto Year One of your degree directly with the University of your choice.
