Overview
The Christian Studies course from University of Saint Joseph prepares students for ordained ministry, work in pastoral ministry or chaplaincies, teaching at schools, as well as the pursuit of further studies in Philosophy, Theology, and Comparative Religion. Students who need the first canonical degree in Theology (five years) granted by the Faculty of Theology, Catholic University of Portugal, are required to enrol in the Foundation Year in Philosophy before joining the Bachelor of Christian Studies programme.

- Successful completion of Secondary School (Form 6/Year 12), or its equivalent. Applicants aged 23 or above are exempted from this requirement

- Have interest in religion, spirituality, the meaning of life, and the quest for God
- Applicants who are Catholics or Christians are asked to provide a letter of recommendation from a priest, pastor, or professed religious (religious brother/sister, monk/nun). Applicants who are Catholic seminarians or lay people sponsored by a Catholic diocese must also provide a letter of recommendation from their local bishop. Members of a Catholic religious congregation (aspirants, novices, religious brothers/sisters, monks/nuns) must provide a letter of recommendation from their legitimate superior.
