Overview
The Character Animation programme is a part of VIA's Animation Bachelor's degree programme at which students can choose to specialise in either Character Animation or Computer Graphic Arts.
At Character Animation you will initially explore the basics of hand-drawn animation before progressing to physics-based animation assignments and eventually acting scenes, in addition to digital 2D animation.
At the programme, students will participate in film-making-related courses like film history and culture, storyboarding, layout, and character design.
Later on, students will be introduced to 3D animation, where they will work together with students specialising in computer graphic arts on a specific project.
During your electives, you will have a chance to dive deeper into a specific area or explore uncharted land to specialise your skills within the areas of your interest.
Portfolio and internship
During your studies, you will be able to work on your portfolio and at your final year, you will complete an obligatory 14-week internship with a production studio.
