Overview
It covers two areas of knowledge, philosophy and management science, providing a broad and coherent curriculum based on European and Anglo-American philosophical traditions.
The Applied Philosophy in Business Decision Making program offered by University of West Attica focuses on developing specific management/administration skills through courses oriented towards business decision-making with a human-centred footprint. The modules are divided into compulsory core courses and optional courses, with a single degree required for all students. There is no choice of major or pathway in the degree.
Why Philosophy in Business Studies?
There are a lot of arguments criticizing that higher education in business administration lacks leadership, decision-making, and ethical behaviour. The lack of humanities-based courses in university curricula disconnects business executives from society and the impact of their economic decisions on people’s welfare.
The inclusion of Philosophy in a business degree can help students discover their blind spots as future leaders and introduce a new philosophy on administration. The proposed degree at UNIWA will provide a strong theoretical analysis, contextual perspective, and a thorough grounding in qualitative and quantitative applications, encouraging students to identify and debate different business thoughts.
