General requirements
There are two admission groups for gaining admission:
- Admission group I (60%): Based on the SAT test results. Required sections: Evidence Based Reading & Writing and Mathematics. Min grade: SAT total score 1150, Mathematics score 600.
- Admission group II (40%): certificate-based admission. Score is calculated from grades in the Finnish Matriculation Examination, IB, EB, or Reifeprüfung/Deutsche Internationale Abiturprüfung.

- Proof of eligibility for higher education
- Proof of English proficiency
- Passport/other ID
- Residence permit card (if applicable)
- If applying with SAT: official SAT report must be sent directly to the university.
- IELTS: min overall 6, writing 5.5
- TOEFL iBT: min overall 78, writing 20 (tests before 21 Jan 2026); min overall 4, writing 3.5 (tests after 21 Jan 2026)
- Others: C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency, PTE, YKI.

The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.
Funding
- The University of Turku supports motivated students with generous scholarships for all Bachelor's level studies, for students who are subject to tuition fees.
- Scholarships, based on academic merits, cover 50% of the tuition fee for the following study year if requirements are met.
- It is not possible to get a scholarship to cover the tuition fee for the first year.
- There is a separate application process for the merit scholarships. The admission services of the University will invite all eligible applicants to apply for the scholarship when the application round opens.
