Overview
The Creative Writing, Arts and Humanities (Online) programme from University of Western Macedonia aims at catering for undergraduate study to secondary education graduates from non-European Union (EU) countries in creative writing and literary studies, and to promote research in the field of Creative Writing, i.e. the active apperception of literary genres, the training of graduates in modern theories and methods of analysis, production of literary and other related texts (scripts, fairy tales, songs, etc.) and the promotion of interdisciplinary research, both at academic and research level, in matters of literature, film and television writing as well as, in a broader scale, cultural production and industry.
The programme aims at:
- catering for advanced undergraduate studies and supporting high-level discipline-specific diploma theses
- offering the possibility of integrated studies in the field of Creative Writing, in the direction of research or personal writing (academic and literary), as well as specialization in cinematography and television writing
- fostering a knowledge background in Education Sciences with specialization in Creative Writing and related fields of education and culture, which will provide graduates with a sense of confidence in their specialization, thereby facilitating their job search endeavors, and, by combining theoretical approaches, scientific methodology and strategies, motivate them towards comprehensive innovative social and cultural initiatives.
The training offered by the programme offers graduates a solid theoretical background and the ability to address interdisciplinary-related complex practical problems, combining theoretical approaches, scientific methodology and strategic thinking to generate innovative actions and policies.
The acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills enables graduates to handle relevant professional and research issues related to the world of books, editing and publishing production. In addition, it qualifies them to engage effectively in cultural production and industry.

- multimedia and digital applications of Creative Writing.
- text editing and publishing procedures and practices.
- relationship between written literary discourse and Ecocriticism.
