The Economics and Sustainable Development course from University of Western Macedonia  trains executives to respond to the new requirements imposed by economic growth and development that fully take into account the needs of a burdened from economic activity environment, through:

• Specialization in the international institutional framework of renewable energy sources and international energy trade.

Scope of the program 

The education of non-Greek citizens at undergraduate level in economics and especially in the areas of:

• sustainable economic growth and development 
• circular economy
• ecology 
• environmental economics with the use of environmentally friendly technologies

• Collect, manage, analyze, and interpret socio-economic data critically and responsibly.

• Develop appropriate economic policy measures.

• Choose and correctly apply the appropriate financial tools to understand, explain, and deal with contemporary economic phenomena and problems.

• Use specialized software packages for the application of econometric and other quantitative techniques.

• Analyze everyday economic problems and evaluate concrete economic policy proposals.

• Gain deep knowledge on issues related to the international institutional framework of renewable energy sources and energy sources management in relation to the protection of the environment.
