The Economics and Sustainable Development course from University of Western Macedonia trains executives to respond to the new requirements imposed by economic growth and development that fully take into account the needs of a burdened from economic activity environment, through:
- Successful professional career in academia, research or business in their home country or internationally.
- Specialization in using Financial Analysis methods and tools with an emphasis on sustainable economic growth and development.
- Specialization in the international institutional framework of renewable energy sources and international energy trade.
- Special abilities and skills, in the field of management of energy sources and the protection of the environment.
- Deep knowledge or the organization and management of investments that
- create sustainable economic growth and development.

Scope of the program
The education of non-Greek citizens at undergraduate level in economics and especially in the areas of:
- sustainable economic growth and development
- circular economy
- ecology
- environmental economics with the use of environmentally friendly technologies
Learning Outcomes
- Collect, manage, analyze, and interpret socio-economic data critically and responsibly.
- Develop appropriate economic policy measures.
- Choose and correctly apply the appropriate financial tools to understand, explain, and deal with contemporary economic phenomena and problems.
- Use specialized software packages for the application of econometric and other quantitative techniques.
- Analyze everyday economic problems and evaluate concrete economic policy proposals.
- Gain deep knowledge on issues related to the international institutional framework of renewable energy sources and energy sources management in relation to the protection of the environment.

- Residents of any country outside Greece,
- Holders of a high school diploma or a
- corresponding to level 3 education certificate according to the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED)
- Holders of a certificate proving competence in English (for non English-speaking countries).
- Additional criteria may apply regarding the students’ ability to meet the cost of living throughout their studies.
- Visa - Students enrolled will receive a certificate for their registration to present to the Greek consular authorities of their country in order to obtain an entry and residence permit for studies (Schengen visa) with a duration of 4.5 years, including 6 months of optional placement.
