Overview
Key features
The increase in life expectancy of the population in developed countries challenges us to learn how to age in a healthy and disease-free way. Society needs professionals with a knowledge of the brain and the central nervous system that will enable us to reduce the effects of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.
The neuroscientist also plays a key role in understanding the interaction between behavioral and emotional mechanisms, memory, decision-making processes, on the one hand, and their physiological, genetic and therapeutic dimensions, on the other. And it participates in the development of artificial intelligence technologies, both in the understanding of the brain to improve the algorithms that implement it, and in the improvement of brain-machine interaction.
