Learning Outcome

The Agricultural Biotechnology program from Kazakh Agro-Technical Research University (KATRU) will help you:

Use the main organic substances obtained from wood in industry, in forestry, in the pulp and paper and hydrolysis industries.
To know the history and tasks of agricultural biotechnology, cell and tissue biotechnology in crop production, the basics of plant genetic engineering, phytohormones and synthetic regulators of plant growth and development in biotechnology and crop production, the application of the achievements of modern biotechnology in agro-industrial production, biotechnology and biosafety.
Prepare artificial nutrient media for growing microorganisms, carry out a quantitative account of microorganisms in various media, obtain cultures of bacteria that ferment fiber, oxidize fat and fiber. Conduct qualitative reactions to the products of ammonification, denitrification processes, conduct microbiological analysis of various types of soils
Proficiency in a foreign language, the norms of written academic speech in English, necessary for the ability to express and defend one's thoughts and opinions in an academic environment, using professional terminology for this.
