Overview
Architecture from Yildiz Technical University is a program that provides education at the undergraduate level. Students who successfully complete this program are entitled to receive a Bachelor's Degree (Science) in the field of Architecture Undergraduate Program
Quick Facts:
- In order to study in YTU undergraduate programs, it is necessary to pass the exam held by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) and not be enrolled in another formal higher education program. For students to be accepted from abroad, the provisions in the YTU International Student Application and Registration Directive apply. Students who qualify for undergraduate programs where at least 30% of the instruction is in English take the English Proficiency Exam (IYS). İYS and preparatory education are carried out in accordance with the YTU School of Foreign Languages (YDYO) Teaching and Examination Directive and other legislative provisions, except for the English Language Teaching Program of the Faculty of Education, Department of Foreign Languages Education.
Program Outcomes:
- Research and Critical Thinking Skills: the ability to test with criteria and standards such as accessing information, evaluating, recording, applying, using abstract ideas to express, evaluating opposing views, reaching well-questioned conclusions.
- Graphic Expression Skill: The ability to formally express every stage of the programming and design process using various techniques, including w/o- and three- dimensional hand drawings and computer technologies, to make appropriate presentations.
- Legal Responsibilities, Ethical and Professional Provisions: To understand the legal responsibilities of the architect in matters affecting design such as property rights, zoning and settlement regulations, user rights for public health, safety and welfare.
- Having Knowledge on Historical Environment Preservation and Restoration: Gaining awareness of knowing and protecting the historical environment; understand the basic techniques required to document historical monuments and structures and prepare restoration projects
- Having Knowledge about World Architectural History: Understanding the rules of world and local architecture in architecture, landscape and urban design, and the climatic, technological, socio-economic, cultural factors and effects of historical heritage that shape and sustain them.
- Formal Composition and Design Skills: understanding the formation, development and applications of visual perception and arrangement systems in architectural and urban design and the ability to apply basic architectural principles at the level of building, interior and settlement design.
- Environmental Systems and Sustainable Design: To understand the basic principles in the design of environmental systems and to protect artificial resources in architectural and urban design decisions of sustainability and to create healthy buildings and settlements.

General requirements
- In order to graduate, students studying in this program must have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and must be successful by getting at least a DC grade in all courses prescribed in the curriculum. The minimum ECTS required for graduation is 240. Students are also required to complete their compulsory internship within the specified period and quality.
