Overview
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Registered Nurses (RN-BSN) Program at the Gulf Medical University is designed with an aim to keep pace with the changing demands of the global healthcare services and to align with international standards of nursing education, thereby provide the Registered Nurses with diploma, an opportunity to acquire a broad liberal university education with particular emphasis on competencies. It will enhance their professional development and prepare them for a broader scope of practice. It will provide avenue to the graduates to undergo higher education in nursing.The Ministry is emphasizing on a Bachelor degree as a minimal qualification for nurses to practice in UAE.The proposed bridge program in Nursing is a 60 credit program for registered nurses who have passed Diploma in Nursing and also have a minimum of two years of clinical experience.The curriculum will bridge the gap between already acquired knowledge and skills in core nursing courses with the latest trends and advances in healthcare practice to improve the competencies essential for practising as a professional nurse.

General requirements
- The applicant must have successfully completed high school (Grade 12) and 3 or 31/2 years program of Diploma in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
- The applicant must submit an Equivalency Certificate of their Diploma in Nursing from Ministry of Education, UAE.
- The applicant must possess Registered Nurse (RN) license from the country of origin, an active Nursing Practice License from MOH/DHA/HAAD and a valid BLS
- The applicant must have proficiency in spoken and written English. The applicant must have passed any one of the following English Language Proficiency Tests with a minimum score as applicable Emirates Standardized Language Test (EmSAT) 1100, TOEFL ITP 500, (173 CBT, 61 iBT), IELTS Academic 5.0 as approved by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), Ministry of Education – Higher Education Affairs, UAE. English proficiency minimum requirement is mandatory before admission.
