Overview
Computer Engineering at University of Madeira incorporates science and technology, construction, implementation and maintenance of software and hardware components of current computer systems and computer-controlled equipment. This combination of software and hardware teaching prepares the students for careers that deal with computer systems, from the project to the implementation phase.
Computer Engineering deals with a vast range of products such as communication devices such as smartphones, tablets, medical devices, home automation systems, etc. A computer engineer typically develops computer-based components and systems, integrating software and hardware components, designs computer and device networks for the Internet of Things, develops and tests its prototypes to deliver them to the industry.
Since this is an area of constant expansion and development, the students will be taught not only to develop projects involving e software and hardware, but also to participare in ethical and professional responsibilities, with the aim of becoming autonomous professionals and team leaders.Programme Structure

- Copy of ID card or passport
- - Declaration under oath that the candidate does not have Portuguese nationality nor is covered by the provisions of numbers 2 and 3 of article 3 of Decree-Law no. 36/2014, of March 10, as currently worded
- - Secondary education diploma or equivalent, or, if the academic qualification does not correspond to the Portuguese secondary education, a document proving that it allows, in the country where it was obtained, access to higher education
- - Course syllabuses and other documents that prove the subjects taught and obtained by the candidates (not applicable when presenting proof of national exams in your country)
- - Proof of completion of national exams in your country (ENEM for candidates from Brazil)
- - Documentary evidence attesting proficiency in the language the study cycle is taught- Proof that the candidate holds the Prerequisites (where applicable)
