Overview

This Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University will expand your career opportunities as an engineer and in the corporate environment. You will gain the understanding of economics and finance needed to lead large engineering projects in your engineering speciality.

In your first year of study you will complete the Engineering Foundation Year (EFY). The EFY was developed in partnership with industry to give you a solid base of the fundamental concepts common to all areas of engineering and reflect current engineering practice.

To satisfy professional accreditation requirements, you'll complete at least 12 weeks or equivalent of exposure to professional engineering practice. You can meet this requirement through appropriate work experience or through a combination of technical and non-technical activities.

Apply broad discipline knowledge to a range of theoretical and practical situations through research and practical application in the field of science and commerce
Think creatively and critically to generate innovative solutions to complex scientific social and political problems
Access, evaluate, synthesise and communicate relevant information from a range of organisational and external sources using appropriate technologies
Describe global and cultural issues as related to the engineering and commerce areas and their impact on local and international communities
Demonstrate respect for human rights, cultural diversity and the particular rights of Indigenous Australians
Show leadership and employ ethical practice and professional integrity, both within a team and independently
