You will explore a range of core psychological perspectives to help you better understand human mind and behaviour and develop your reflective skills to understand more about the application of psychology, preparing you to reach your future goals. Alongside exploring theory in the classroom and its application to contemporary societal challenges, you will also have practical opportunities to develop your research and experimental skills in our state-of-the-art psychology lab. Practical work-based learning outside of the university and additional training around mental health are all included in this course and will ensure you are ready to put your knowledge and skills into practice.The course will raise questions such as, do you need a win-at-all-costs mentality to succeed in sport? Or do you get the best out of people by putting the person before the athlete? You will study modules across the psychology areas, and three bespoke modules exploring contemporary application of theory, from enhancing performance and improving wellbeing to using psychology in the sport and exercise community.
