The BA (Hons) Education Studies is based within the academic fields of Education, Sociology and Psychology. It captures the widest context in relation to gaining employment within the children’s workforce, specifically relating to children aged 3 to 11 years. This programme will provide you with a strong foundation of knowledge and skills relevant to wider employment whilst offering targeted knowledge and practical experience relevant to specific occupations such a teaching assistants, learning mentors and a range of support roles in schools, the police, local government and third sector (charity) organisations.

- Embedded employability skills: Throughout your studies we work closely with our employability team to make sure you develop the transferable and specific skills needed to gain or maintain employment.
- Enhanced reflective practice linked to career management sessions: As you prepare to step into employment towards the end of your studies you will receive targeted support and training led by our Careers and Employability Team.
- Access to further study: We recognise that you may want to progress to postgraduate study following your Undergraduate degree. We hold regular information sessions regarding postgraduate study and offer our students a guaranteed interview onto the Wrexham University full-time or part-time PGCE programme.

General requirements
The academic requirements for the course are;
- 48 - 72 UCAS points at A level or equivalent
- GCSE grade C/4 or above in English/Welsh (First Language).
For students without the standard entry qualifications, it may be possible to take this course if you have additional life or work experience and can demonstrate an ability to engage with the academic challenges of the programme. Candidates without standard entry requirements may be invited to interview.
Before applicants are offered an unconditional place on this degree, they will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance (previously known as CRB), to confirm their suitability for working with children, young people and vulnerable adults.
