About

The Department Of History and Culture is centred around the study of understanding the worlds of the past and reflect on the formation of the present. The History and Culture program at University of Ulsan helps students to have a balanced understanding of history and culture and the ability to overcome reality and lead the future.

Cultural experts who will lead the new era should have comprehensive understanding and application of history, culture, language and literature information. Thus, the lecture program of this major pursues the basic goal of fostering cultural experts with international ability through the completion of the major field for four years. The completion of stage-by-step major lectures and various double major courses will lead history and cultural studies to society with the ability and confidence as the main players of the 21st century society characterized by unlimited international competition for cultural information.

To cultivate cultural experts who will lead the new era, this major enables students to develop how to formulate their critical arguments, communicate with others through writing and speech, and listen critically.

Education aims

The program aims at developing student’s ability to express their views coherently and logically by developing writing and communication skills.

Enables students not only to increase research skills and heighten theoretical awareness but also to develop the capacity to locate information, analyse evidence, think critically and communicate effectively

An applicant with non-Korean nationality and both of their parents having non-Korean nationality
High school graduates(or expected graduates) in Korea or overseas must hold or expect to have high school qualifications. As a minimum, an applicant must have a qualification considered to be equivalent to a Year 12 qualification (completion of high school) in Korea.
