Overview
Overview
Through the Fine Arts - Design and Production (Honours) program at University of Melbourne, you will undertake independent research and the production of a major creative project. Students also have the opportunity to work on projects in practice-lab, the student-led design studio that undertakes projects for clients in the University and the community.
You'll build specialist expertise in design for stage and screen, graphic design, or stage management. We welcome projects investigating all forms of design and production practice, and you can also work with other disciplines in the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music – such as working on live, large-scale performances with our Music Theatre, Theatre, Acting and Dance students; or on film projects with our Film and Television students.
You will be introduced to practice-led research skills and methodologies for devising, defining and managing a major creative project and related research paper. The independent research required for producing this major project develops your ability for critical and creative thinking and problem-solving and develops your aptitude for continued self-directed learning; producing better informed, skilled and more articulate practitioners.
