Mechanical Engineering is considered as one of the broadest engineering disciplines. Major disciplines within mechanical engineering include but not limited to structural analysis, mechanics, manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, composites, control system, energy and design. Manufacturing engineering applies engineering principles to develop and implement manufacturing processes as well as products. Manufacturing engineers activities focus on the design and operation of integrated systems for the production of high-quality, economically and competitive product.

The Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Technology (Manufacturing) with Honours programme at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia curriculum features mechanical engineering core disciplines with strong emphasizes on hands-on skills, creativity, experiential learning and critical thinking. Design component culminates in mechanical engineering design course as well as industry-biased and practical-biased final year project.

The aim of this programme is to produce mechanical engineering technologist in manufacturing who are able to:

At least three (3) principal passes in the General Certificate of Education ‘Advancedlevel’ (GCE) ‘A’ Level Examination (UK Educational System) obtained in one sitting.
International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum of six (6) subjects obtained in onesitting.
A Diploma or any other Equivalent Qualification recognized by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the Senate of the University.
Any other qualifications that are recognized by the Senate of the University as equivalent .
