Key facts
Students from the Metallurgy and Material Engineering program from University of Indonesia are expected to master the nature and ways of making materials encountered daily. From car bodies and engines, airplane bodies, plastic packaging, communication equipment, ceramic insulators, and x-ray filaments made of metallic powder to the most advanced materials available today, such as nanomaterials, titanium, fiber composites used in spacecraft, and kidneys. Graduates of the Department of Metallurgy & Materials Engineering work in many iron/steel and non-ferrous casting industries, mining, petroleum, automotive manufacturing, and construction as researchers in government institutions such as LIPI, BPPT, and BATAN.
The entry route for the Special International Undergraduate Class in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering is taken through the SIMAK route.
