Originally called Rechtshogeschool or Faculteit der Rechtsgeleerdheid , which opened on October 28 1924, the Faculty of Law at the University of Indonesia (FHUI) is the oldest law campus in Indonesia which produced important intellectual figures who founded the Indonesian nation.

The focus of the Law programme from University of Indonesia is to produce law graduates who master Indonesian law, master the scientific basics and basic work skills to develop law and legal knowledge, know and are sensitive to justice and social issues, are able to analyze legal problems in society, able to use law as a means to solve problems in society with wisdom and remaining based on legal principles.
