Overview
University of East Anglia 's Humanities Foundation Year is an intensive and exciting year of study. You’ll focus on the topics which interest you and create a toolkit of essential academic skills.
We provide a supportive and rewarding learning environment. You'll study with dedicated lecturers from UEA’s Interdisciplinary Institute for the Humanities. Alongside History, you’ll also explore a wide range of related academic subjects, including Literature, Philosophy, Film, Media, and Politics. We’ll help you make connections between different disciplines to spark your curiosity. In addition, we'll encourage you to work towards your own individual learning goals.
On your History Foundation Year, you’ll have access to all the opportunities and resources that UEA and Norwich have to offer. Including a wonderful array of heritage sites, archives, museums, and historic buildings on your doorstep.
As you develop your own academic interests and passions, you’ll then be well-placed to progress onto the degree that’s the best fit for you. After successfully completing your Foundation Year, you can move onto the BA History (with a Foundation Year) (Hons) degree. Alternatively, you can request to transfer to another undergraduate course within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Use the Foundation Year to springboard onto the degree of your choice. Take control of your own future studies.
