Overview
At University of East Anglia , we believe everyone should have the chance to study at degree level. You might not yet have the required grades. You may need a little extra support. You may need time to decide where your interests lie. If so, then our BA Philosophy with a Foundation Year is the perfect choice.
Key facts
We provide a supportive and rewarding learning environment. You'll study with dedicated lecturers from UEA’s Interdisciplinary Institute for the Humanities. You’ll explore a wide range of academic subjects adjacent to Philosophy, including History, Literature, Film, Media, History of Art and Politics. We’ll help you make connections between different disciplines to spark your curiosity. We'll also encourage you to work towards your own individual learning goals.
While studying with us, you’ll have access to all the opportunities and resources that UEA and Norwich have to offer. From the Media Suite to the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, you’ll have the space to grow your interests outside the seminar room.
As you develop your own academic interests and passions, you’ll then be well-placed to progress onto the degree that’s the best fit for you. After successfully completing your foundation year, you’ll move straight onto the BA Philosophy degree. Alternatively, you can request to transfer to another undergraduate course within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, subject to taking the required prerequisite modules. Use the foundation year to springboard onto the degree of your choice and take control of your future studies.
