Audio and Music Production (Hons) Bucks New University

Overview

In your first year, you’ll nail down the essentials, recording clean audio, editing it so it works, mixing so it pops, plus the music production and theory that help you understand the bigger picture. Second year is when you branch out into more complex areas: sound for moving image, interactive audio, and spatial mixing. 

You’ll also find yourself working on multi-disciplinary projects with students from other courses. By third year, it’s all about finding your own creative voice. You’ll take on a major final project, get professional development support, and pull together a portfolio that’s job-interview ready.

What are my career prospects?

Graduates of the Audio and Music Production (Hons) course at Bucks New University go in all sorts of directions; sound design for film and TV, audio post-production, game audio, music production, even sports broadcasting at events like the Olympics and Formula 1. Some go freelance straight away; others dive into postgraduate study in areas like spatial or interactive audio. However you choose to work, you’ll leave with the technical skills, creative flair, and collaborative experience to get your foot in the door, and the work in your portfolio to keep it there.
