Medicine Near East University

Overview

The Near East University Faculty of Medicine, which is the first faculty of medicine in Cyprus, started its educational programs in 2008.  It is a young faculty which has achieved its place in the World Directory of Medicine Schools. Its main aim is to apply continual medicine education pre and post-graduation. 

It aims to graduate highly competent doctors who are equipped with the ability to solve problems, who are knowledgeable, competent, honest, who follow both medical and global ethic principles, who believe that learning should be a lifelong process, who aim to serve mankind, who respect their patients, and are understanding and responsible towards them. 

In modern medicine, it is not sufficient for the doctor to only deal with the diagnosis and treatment of the patients that come to them.  Therefore, the doctors who graduate from the Faculty of Medicine are people who prioritise preventative medicine and the community and who take on the responsibility to educate the community in health-related matters.

Therefore, at the Near East University Faculty of Medicine, which is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools, graduates can take the specialist exam and work as a doctor in various countries including the USA.

The Faculty of Medicine has a modern anatomy laboratory, quality medicine applications laboratory, physiology training and research laboratory, and multidisciplinary (Biochemistry, Physiology, Pathology and Microbiology) education laboratories for its students.  The student laboratories are connected to a visual and audio transfer system, microscope and computer images that are managed centrally can be transferred to other laboratories. The laboratories also have educational equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges and spectrophotometers.
