The Modern Languages and Film Studies BA (Hons) at the University of Leeds offers an innovative approach to understanding global cinema alongside language studies. The course structure includes compulsory modules that introduce key concepts in film studies, as well as optional modules that allow for exploration of specific interests within the field.

In the first year, students will be introduced to foundational concepts in film studies, employing a world cinema perspective that encourages a broad understanding of cinematic practices. As they progress to the second year, they will engage with critical frameworks and methodologies, further deepening their analytical skills.

The third year is dedicated to the study abroad experience, where students will immerse themselves in the language and culture they have been studying. This year is pivotal for enhancing language skills and gaining practical experience in a real-world context.
