Students in Midwifery (Blended Learning) will develop and become a role model for other professionals and the women, birthing people and families you’ll provide care for.

You’ll be taught how to work inclusively with all women, birthing people, their families and others involved in care.

University of Leeds's blended learning approach means you can learn via both electronic and online media as well as traditional face-to-face teaching. It provides an innovative and accessible way to begin your pathway to becoming the best midwife you can be.

On successful completion of the programme you’re eligible to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a midwife. There are many opportunities for midwives – from rotational posts in hospitals or the community, to specialist practitioner and management roles.

General requirements

A-level: ABB including Biology or Human Biology. General Studies and Critical Thinking are not accepted.
GCSE: 5 GCSEs at a Grade 5 / B, including English (English Language or English Literature), Mathematics, and two Sciences (either single sciences (Biology, Chemistry or Physics) or dual-award)

Other course specific tests:

In your application, you will need to show evidence of study in the last five years.
You are also required to provide an academic reference, which includes a statement which attests to your character and good standing, and suitability to enter the profession for which you have applied.
