It aims to train students with extensive knowledge and skills in psychology, mental health, and counselling.

This unprecedented Hong Kong Metropolitan University programme will develop students’ intellectual and practical skills that are applied in many pressing mental health issues. It taps into the theoretical basis of mental health such as the etiology of mental illnesses, the biological foundations of mental health, and the current practices in prevention and treatment.

The Psychology and Mental Health (Honours) programme also takes learning to another level by allowing students to appraise the effectiveness of various counselling approaches, and to accommodate the specific needs of different clinical populations. It serves as an important foundation in paving a career path in mental health.
