Overview
In the Visual Arts (Hons) programme at American College of Greece, students gain broad exposure to a variety of techniques and theories through foundation to advanced studio classes, art history and art theory classes. During the course of study, students develop skills in painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, performance, computer art and video. The Visual Arts programme develops students’ critical awareness and cultivates the investigation of the social, cultural and historical perspectives affecting the creative process. Students enhance their visual literacy and develop the confidence to create a personal art practice within a rapidly changing art environment.
The structure of the major is modeled on those of distinguished universities in the U.S. and the U.K., allowing students to strive not only for academic but also for professional excellence. One letter of recommendation from teacher/professor of last institution attended; letter from private tutor is not accepted
- Official high school transcript(s) and diploma or Official college/university transcript(s) and catalog (if applying for transfer credits)
- If none of the above can be provided, then the candidate will have to take the English Placement Test administered by the College.
- IELTS Academic (6.5 or above)
Students may also qualify to take WP1010 by submitting evidence of fluency based on graduation from an English speaking secondary school/program.
