Overview

At Mime Acting from Stockholm University of Arts you will have the opportunity to work in in a wide range of contexts with colleagues from different fields of the arts. Former students work as mime actors, directors and choreographers as well as animators, puppeteers and motion capture actors. They work as freelancers, in established companies and create their own companies. Through their artistic approach, they have expanded where and how mime acting and physical theatre are presented.

Goals

In the Bachelor’s Programme in Mime Acting you develop tools for your artistic practice. You will be working independently as well as with collective creation. Practice is interwoven with theory in the form of analysis, discussion and reflection. In daily training, you will study various movement and acting practices supporting the development of the awareness of your body and the other bodies in the room. You develop a capacity to visualize, express and embody thoughts and feelings.

Theoretical courses about the history of culture, history of circus, health and mental training, rigging and safety

You need to fulfil general entry requirements for university studies with the exception of Swedish 1, 2, 3 and English 6 (courses in the Swedish upper secondary/high school system). The language of instruction is English so you don’t need any knowledge of Swedish. You do need English 5 or the equivalent level of English language skills.

Diploma from your upper-secondary school grades, including a list of subjects and grades in the original language.

An authorized translation of the diploma from your upper-secondary school grades, including the list of subjects taken and grades received.

A document to show eligibiligy in English (grades from upper secondary school, or test result from an official English test)
